Be part of Energy Hackathon 9.0, the high-energy opening event on the road to LOCUS 2026. Over four engaging days, participants will explore Nepal’s most pressing energy challenges and collaborate to design practical, future-ready solutions.
Beyond competition and cash prizes, Energy Hackathon 9.0 offers real exposure to Nepal’s energy landscape, meaningful challenges to solve and direct connections with energy experts. Whether you are driven by innovation, sustainability or a future career in energy, this is your platform to create impact.

🗓️ Duration: Four-day hackathon
📍 Venue: Library Hall, Pulchowk Campus
🎤 Pitching Time: 2-3 minutes (Poush 30 / January 14)
🏆 Prize Pool: NPR 100k+
💰 Registration Fee: NPR 1200 per team (only after selection)
⏰ Registration Deadline: Poush 27, 11:59 PM (January 11, 11:59 PM)
🕒 Event Timeline
🟢 Day 1 – Ignite the Ideas
Idea pitching by all registered teams, followed by judge feedback and Q&A sessions with energy professionals and researchers.
🟡 Day 2 – Mentorship & Direction
Each team is paired with an industry mentor for guidance, feedback and real-world insights.
🔵 Day 3 – Build & Refine
Hands-on collaboration with mentors to brainstorm, develop and refine solutions.
🔴 Final Day – Showcase & Impact
Final presentations before judges and audience, interactive Q&A and recognition of the most impactful and feasible ideas.
📝 Proposal Submission Guidelines
✏️ Submission: Submit a proposal based on the provided problem statement
📏 Word Limit: Minimum 350 words, maximum 800 words
✅ Proposal Must Include:
➡️ Title and Category Name
➡️ Introduction
➡️ Short description of the problem
➡️ Objectives of the idea
➡️ Methodology for execution

📌 Important Notes
🗓️ Pitching Requirement: All teams that submit proposals must pitch on Poush 30 / January 14
📹 Remote Teams: Teams outside the valley must submit a 2-3 minute recorded pitch video
💻 Online Availability: At least one team member must be available online for Q&A
📍 Final Event Presence: Physical presence of all selected teams is mandatory for the final event on Magh 8 / January 22
