SANKALPA Hackathon

32 Hours of Innovation and Real-World Problem Solving

SANKALPA is a 32 hours on-site hackathon designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving among IT and Computer students. Participants will work in teams to design, develop, and present innovative technical solutions within a fixed timeframe.

📍 Venue: Himalayan WhiteHouse International College, Kathmandu
👥 Expected Reach: 2500+ visitors including students, mentors, industry experts and technology enthusiasts

🎓 Eligibility

Open to: +2 students and Undergraduate students (IT, Computer Science or related disciplines)

Participants must:
• Carry a valid student ID during the event
• Complete pre-registration within the announced deadline
• Note: Late registrations or on-spot entries will not be accepted

👥 Team Formation

Team Size: 3 – 4 members
• Team members must be declared during registration
• No changes to team composition are allowed once the hackathon is officially registered
• Cross-department or cross-institution teams may be allowed if announced by the organizers

🧠 Themes and Problem Statements

• Hackathon themes will be announced at the start of the event
• Teams may select any problem statement within the announced themes
• Expected themes may include AI, FinTech, HealthTech, EdTech, Social Innovation etc
• Teams may also propose an original problem aligned with the themes subject to mentor or judge approval
• Solutions must demonstrate innovation, feasibility, and relevance

🍽 Meals and Facilities

Food & Lodging Arrangements will be managed by the organizers.
Participants will be provided with:
• Meals throughout the event
• Dedicated working and resting spaces
• Basic medical assistance if required

🏆 Prizes and Recognition

🥇 First Prize – NPR 30,000
🥈 Second Prize – NPR 15,000
🥉 Third Prize – NPR 10,000

Internship Opportunities will be offered to the Top 3 Teams, and standout performers

Winning teams will receive:
• Cash prizes
• Certificates of recognition

Additional awards may include:
• Best Innovation
• Most Impactful Solution
• Best Technical Implementation
• Best Presentation

All prizes are subject to applicable tax regulations including a 15% tax deduction.

Note

• Participants must follow the code of conduct and maintain respectful behavior.
• Organizers may use project summaries, photos, and videos for promotion
• All projects must be developed during the hackathon and must be original.

🧑‍⚖️ Judging Process

Projects will be evaluated by a panel comprising:
• Faculty members
• Industry experts
• Technical professionals

Each team must present:
• A live demo or presentation
• Supporting materials such as slides, prototype, or video if required

Judges’ decisions are final and binding.
